Well, here I am...I guess it was inevitable that I would eventually join the blogging world, especially since I've been enjoying everyone else's blogs so much. I was talking with Alison the other day telling her of various goings-on and she noted that I had plenty of stuff for a blog, so she set one up for me and here I am. I don't have any photos yet, but we're working on that (I take lots of photos, but fortunately for all concerned, I'm not in any of them.)
A word about the name Where the Sidewalk Ends....it's NOT named for the George Strait song (Jonathan has been singing that ever since he heard the name of the blog). We have a really neat gas lamp in the front yard and it has a little plaque hanging on it that says "where the sidewalk ends" and the sidewalk does, literally, end and the end of the yard. I guess when the city was installing sidewalks this house was the last one on this side of the street and that's where the sidewalk stopped (even though there are a dozen more houses on this side of the street now, but no more sidewalk; so thus you have me (Mom) here where the sidewalk ends.
I will try and post fairly recently anything I think any of you would be interested in reading... so until next time...

Good job, Mom! I knew you could do it! I am so excited for blogs!
I just checked out the where the sidewalk ends (with no dash-mom on it) link and guess what? The person who took it has a total of 2posts back in 2005. No fair that they are hogging the web address!
Welcome to the blogging world, Judy. Alison is right, it is addicting. I have been so happy to be reunited with family and friends through their blogs, although I have to be careful not to spend too much time on them, as there are other things that sadly need to be done during my day. My sister and I started a Poulson family blog and were so excited when many family members joined in. It was a great way to catch up on the lives of all my neices and nephews who are now parents and raising wonderful families. My children all have their own blogs, and many of the Poulson relatives have invited me to their blogs, so reading blogs could take up most of my time if I let it. It is just great fun!
I loved your little sidewalk explanation. How funny! I am sure you will have plenty of fun things to share with your readers. My kids tell me they get a kick out of reading my journals, and they are as dull as they come! But I remember loving to read Mother's journals also, especially when I would find something in there about me. It was revealing to me to find out what things were important enough for her to record. That is probably what my children find also. Sorry, I didn't mean to write an epoch
!!!!
Welcome to Blogging! I don't know this for fact, but I think I am the first of the Potter family to start blogging (I think a lot of people are still unaware that I have a blog and that is okay) So I am just glad I was able to influence others in such a wonderful way. :)
